I place this on the lid area of my stovetop to avoid scratching the lid. It's easy to trim and doesn't "break down" at all when cut. Won't discolor from heat and still won't stain if you clean up spills within a reasonable time. It weighs more, isn't flimsy/thin, but isn't bulky either. A little overpriced for a piece of silicone mat but it holds up and the color is as described so sometimes you just pay knowing you only have to buy it once (as in this case). ).
