I bought these a few years ago, I only looked at them because a lot of Thanksgiving guests have asked where to buy them. I was blown away by some of these reviews. Of course, polished aluminum turns ugly gray in the dishwasher. Dish soap is a nasty thing. I wouldn't recommend them for chemicals like road deicers either. If you add some moisture, the chemical will react with the aluminum. They make great ice scoops and I think they work well with any non-aggressive dry product. For chemicals, look for plastic or possibly stainless steel depending on the chemical.
