Review on Stainless Vacmaster VQ607SFD Gallon Vacuum by Chris Endricko

Looks good, works too!

Now I have the nicest vacuum cleaner on the market and a level of flexibility I never had before. One of the nice things about this shop vacuum is the variety of filters available. I bought (and tested) a HEPA filter for sawing indoor tile, which I had to do, and I bought a sawdust filter to work in my garage. My old shop vacuum kicked up huge clouds of dust when I needed to pick up something small like ash. Not this one; We stick a HEPA filter and everything is ok. It can also be equipped with pouches, which I haven't tried yet. My last vacuum cleaner took off sounding like a Boeing 747. Wackmaster, while not exactly reassuring, probably won't wake the dead. The suction is fine too and smashes my old block once more. Some reviewers had issues with the cord length. I found the cable ok. For quick work in a small space, the cord is long enough that I can easily find and plug in an outlet. For larger tasks, I pull out my impressive collection of extension cords. The hose is ok but a bit stiff for me. I wish the hose was a little larger in diameter. So far the Vacmaster has had no tendency to tip over. The final consideration for me was the power consumption of this device. It's tempting to buy the world's largest, most powerful store-bought vacuum, but there's a major downside to this approach. One of the many requirements the Vacumaster will meet is that it will plug into a dust connector found on many of my power tools. Our garage is a workshop, storage room and laundry room at the same time. For reasons I don't understand, my wife doesn't like her clean clothes covered in sawdust. A large industrial vacuum might have more suction power, but my garage has limited power. When I try to start a 6-hp shop vacuum, overhead lights, and table saw, I soon have to walk long distances to circuit breakers that are outside (bad idea) and at the other end of the house. So I was looking for a shop vacuum cleaner that was energy efficient. I thought for the money this turned out to be a very good buy and as an added bonus it looks great in my garage/storage/workshop. / Laundry.
