Review on 🔊 Enhanced Audio Performance: Adafruit Electret Microphone Amplifier (MAX9814) with Auto Gain Control - ADA1713 by Robin Nelson

I've looked at a lot of diagrams online, but I'm just not an electrical engineer. I design structures, not schemes. Well, if I find such pearls, I'm happy. That aside, this device actually works exceptionally well - it's easy to assemble using the manufacturer's instructions, all the parts are fairly cheap and available here at Revain. Turn it on and lo and behold - it works really well. . with some caveats 1) VERY high gain so to speak "out of the box" - but they tell you how to turn it down 2) The mic is omnidirectional - picks up any sound from any direction and tends to drown out everything what you would like to hear. To be honest, I wish the manufacturer would replace it with a cardioid microphone. Those are the only two shortcomings I have, otherwise a great product for little money.
