Review on 9-Inch Precision Printing Function Extruder - 1X5/9X5/9 by Darion Wooten

Updated: I sent it back and spent a lot more money and got a LulzBot Mini 2 - look I know it's twice the price and only has 1 extruder , But frankly, there is nothing to compare. Getting started with 3D printing can also give you a great experience right from the start. LulzBot is great, but QIDI didn't give me much experience - WiFi didn't work, slicer software was mediocre, no USB printing - constantly getting up to load GCODE from a USB stick was annoying. It didn't align properly - as one printhead was a little low and kept dragging and messing with the model. They told me to take out the print head on one side and put a thin piece of paper between them - they even made a video to show me. At that moment I refused, packed and sent back. Painter's tape was awful with projects constantly stuck to it. Lulzbot has flip glass and a PEI platform - projects are easy to tear off - even up to 0.5mm thick. Try using masking tape. I'm not criticizing QIDI - I just want to spare people the problems I'm having. Hey if you still want to try it - please do - if it's PREMIER you can send it back like I did. 1. great customer service from China - dealt with one person so far, Emily, who was very helpful. Communicated with her via email and skype. Here are a few things I noticed: The filament spools scratch the slightly protruding screws causing the spools to bind and not spin smoothly. I've had to update the firmware several times, but I still can't print over the network via WiFi with the slicer software. One of the filament guide tubes keeps slipping out of the back causing me to have to snap it if I don't catch it in time, it slides over the top and hits the top cap. I've noticed that one of the nozzles is lower than the other - I can tell by centering the platform and the left nozzle is denser than the right. This is also evident when you use both extruders - I have white and black filament, and when you print white - you can see the other nozzle brush making marks on it, and you can also see black residue when it's pulled. Decent guide on how to set it up - but they aren't ok. One part is about mounting a turbofan and you have trouble figuring out how it fits, only to find that a few steps later you're shown how to remove the fan so you can install it. It was also not clear how and in which direction the extruder heads should be attached. This works either way, I had to rely on visual cues to ensure proper orientation. At the moment I'm not sure if I'll keep it. I had a lot of problems with it, more than I expected. I will update this review soon.
