Review on Black Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II Digital Camera with Wi-Fi, NFC, 1-Inch Sensor, and LCD Screen - 100 - 1066C001 by Abhijit Abhijit ᠌

I picked up the device instead of the suddenly deceased Canon G9. I read reviews, looked at examples of pictures and videos. I got acquainted with SONY RX100III as a progenitor. I expected there to be some rough edges, but Canon's expensive compact cannot disappoint. It turns out it can. All the advantages listed above, alas, cannot compensate for the resulting quality, which is obtained due to the peculiarity of focusing and subsequent in-camera processing. The image is really sharp only in the center, it is lathered along the edges and this soap is apparently additionally processed in order to increase sharpness, which is why artifacts are visible on images obtained even in daylight. When shooting at close range, it is possible to get in focus either the near or far part of an object that has small irregularities. When shooting in the evening at a relatively high ISO, noise is not noticeable, but this is a merit, not so much of the matrix, but of the non-switchable noise reduction, even on RAW. The video is also peculiar: on FHD, even with a slow rotation of the camera, the image becomes cloudy and is restored when it stops, and when moving, the image may twitch slightly. I note that all of the above is also present in SONY RX100III, but to a much lesser extent. Someone may accuse me of looking at pixels, of being picky about the little things. However, I had a starting point - G9, and getting the worst quality, and at a higher cost, is unacceptable for me. The camera has been returned.
