If you have this model "MacBookPro11,4" I would not recommend buying this SSD. It will fail due to Kernel Panic during heavy operations and unfortunately no one has left this type of recall yet. If you want to test it, install Virtualbox and try to install Windows 7 or maybe Windows 10. That's a large enough I/O operation to reliably cause a kernel panic. The SSD is fast, but well documented in various Mac forums. on the web and Hackintosh forums that this particular SSD is problematic for large I/O copy operations on macOS in general. They hacked into the NVMe drivers to fix the problem, but there are no simple binaries to try on your real MacBook, you have to build them yourself using their tools. If you fail, you know what. You may have corrupted your file system or messed up your system by messing around with a file system level driver. (Maybe partition your drive so you can boot into 2 different macOS systems while you work on it?) Good luck improving your driver. Maybe Apple will release an update to fix these issues, but I wouldn't hold my breath. It's also doubtful that Samsung would take the time to update its firmware to avoid a fatal kernel panic during large I/O operations in macOS. The problem does not occur on Linux or Windows on MacBook hardware, only on macOS.
