In 2021, Samsung released two versions of Galaxy Watch: Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. This Galaxy Watch 4 has a similar physical design to the Galaxy Watch Active 2, with a digital touch ring on the edge and is available in 40mm and 44mm sizes. Meanwhile, the Watch 4 "Classic" has a physical design more similar to the Watch 3, with a physical rotating steel bezel and sizes of 42mm and 46mm. Both versions come with Bluetooth or LTE models. Both versions now use the Google WearOS operating system instead of the Samsung TizenOS that all previous Samsung watches used. This means a wider range of apps for your watch, including all Google apps. To reiterate: Watch4 = Watch Active2 theme + Google WearOSWatch4 Classic = Watch3 theme + Google WearOS Both versions now have a faster processor than Watch3, as well as more RAM (1.5GB instead of 1GB) and more storage (16GB instead of 8 GB) . There are also some additional sensors, including a geomagnetic sensor and body composition analysis, although some features may vary by country. Here are some of my other thoughts after using this watch: gone. Now that Samsung is using WearOS, there are many more apps available, including Google Maps. I particularly liked the large selection of apps. Of course, if you've previously used a custom watch face on the Galaxy Watch 3 from the Galaxy Store, you can skip this old watch face, but there are many others to choose from. Speed: Watch 4 is significantly faster. Scrolling through apps and launching apps feels smoother and a little quicker to get things done. -BodyComp: That seemed pretty inaccurate to me, but it's nice to have this baseline to try and improve on. -Battery: The battery life of this Watch4 is slightly better than Watch3. I'll check it out over the next few weeks. Overall, I like the changes in this new version of the Galaxy Watch. Other software updates are also reportedly in the works, such as using Google Assistant instead of Bixby. Coming from the Galaxy Watch 3, I prefer the Watch 4 "Classic" model due to the rotating bezel, but if you're upgrading from Active2 and don't care about the bezel, then you might prefer the regular Watch 4. (Note - I haven't personally tried using them with an iPhone, but multiple sources seem to indicate that there are some difficulties in trying this, so do a little research first if using an iPhone.)
