Revain is now inundated with IPL devices. These devices promise to reduce/remove hair with high-intensity flashes of light. This is a technology that was initially offered in clinics at a high price but is now also available for affordable home devices. While most of the devices offered by Revain are very similar overall, some stand out with premium features that are rare to find. This listing is for one such premium device. While the focus is still on hair removal, this particular model has a built-in rechargeable battery so you can use it wirelessly, as well as multiple flashes for different parts of the body. Features of this IPL device:** Performs hair removal only** Built-in rechargeable battery and wireless functionality** Includes three interchangeable tips that work on large areas of the body, face and sensitive areas (e.g. bikini line)* * Not included Cooling function ICE-Skin** LCD screen shows number of remaining flashes and power level (1-5)** Gun-shaped device with trigger activation - fits ergonomically and comfortably in the hand** Power cord is attached at the end of the device attached ( see photo) )** Can be used while charging** Designed for approx. 300,000 flashes, 5 power levels. The operation is quite trivial: 1) When you first get this device, you need to fully charge the battery. The device came with a 2/3 charged battery, but it is best to fully charge the battery for best performance. You can get started right away and use it with the power cord plugged in if you want. 2) Turn on the device using the power button, which is clearly labeled and appears below the LCD screen. 3) Select the power level to use (you have five levels and can toggle between them with a short press of the power button). The level is displayed on the LCD screen. 4) Place the front of the device on the skin you want to treat and press the flash button (located where the gun trigger is). (You can also put the device in "Auto" mode, where it will flash every time it touches skin. To put it in Auto mode, press and hold the flash button for 3 seconds.) After blinking, there is several seconds of refractory time before you can blink again. The device will indicate that it is ready to flash by illuminating an LED on the edge of the device's head. The light is very strong and can damage your eyes with constant direct exposure. Therefore, you should never look directly into the light. I would recommend that you wear sunglasses if using the light for a long period of time. Please note that this set does not include sunglasses. The light is triggered by sensors on the front of the device. With very slow movement I was able to capture the light (see photos). But the duration of the light is very short. Run the tool over the area where you want to remove hair, making sure to uncover all the hair follicles in that area. You won't see instant results. The light signals that your hair has stopped growing, but it takes multiple treatments over several weeks before you see results. Eventually, you should notice a significant reduction in the amount of hair in the treated areas. In the box you get the tool, three interchangeable earbuds (one pre-installed), a power cord and a card to help you determine which power level to use. depending on skin/hair type, a card with a description of the properties of the three interchangeable heads (see photos) and instructions. This tool is rated for approximately 300,00 flashes. (So it should probably take longer than your interest in it). Changing the head is easy: remove one from the front and put on the other. The functionality of the heads is indicated by bright white icons on the heads (see photo). I found them both difficult to understand and unintuitive. I would like the markers to be used in more visible ink and words for clarification. Although the manufacturer states that the three heads are intended for large areas, the face and sensitive areas (e.g. the bikini line), no technical details are provided on the specifics that differentiate the headgear from each other. I suspect it's a combination of the size of the light portal and filtering out certain wavelengths of light. Most kits do not include attachments for the face or sensitive areas. Overall, it's not the cheapest IPL option, but it's one of the few that supports battery operation (some will see it as a massive improvement over the hassle of an IPL). The cord is pulled around. It also offers special attachments for focusing on the face and sensitive areas, which are unusual and should appeal to many. As they say in the ice cream shop: it costs a little more, but it's worth it.
