I bought this remote control in November 2018. I used it once to record a video of a family Christmas dinner. The board did very well. The next time I used it was on a trip to Puerto Rico in July 2019. My daughter and I did two tours and many videos of our activities (beach, rainforest). On the third ride, after charging the remote control battery, the remote control would not turn on. I have a USB portable battery that I use to charge my phone. I plugged in the remote and the battery showed it was low and not charging. The remote works with an external battery, which isn't great as it makes the remote bulky and doesn't fit with a selfie stick. Less than a year in use. I'm skeptical about buying another. Will Shoot sell (I thought it was a GoPro, my fault) or send me another battery? I opened the block to measure the charging voltage for the battery. The battery voltage is zero without charging. 3.0 volts when trying to charge. The battery has a nominal voltage of 3.7 volts. I saw other buyers had the same problem. I wouldn't buy this remote again and wouldn't recommend it unless Shoot convinced me that the battery issue was fixed. I would like to send them my remote control to check for improvements. This is a really good remote if not for the short battery life. Update - I threw this remote in the trash and bought a GoPro Smart Remote (an official GoPro accessory). I paid a lot more but worth the brand name for the quality. I don't go on vacation and the remote control fails again. I know GoPro supports their products.
