I bought these to completely block accidental non-phantom power on my mixer with a ribbon mic attached. I could buy TRS-XLR cables, but that's a lot more expensive than using adapters. Of course, a TRS connection CANNOT transmit phantom power. The design is robust and they didn't introduce any interference into the signal chain between the connected microphones and devices and my mixer. The spring line has enough tension and fits perfectly with my existing XLR cables. Conclusion: a safe purchase.
