Initially these scales were ideal for making coffee with infusions. I liked how easy it was to empty the tare with each step and appreciated the convenience of the built in timer. But after three months of use, the tare function started giving inconsistent readings. At first I thought it might be a protective plastic mat, but even without the mat the readings changed. For example: For Pourover I use 25g of coffee beans measured in a plastic cup. If the initial weight goes up to 27g and I lift the jar and shake out a few grains instead of lowering it, the next gauge goes up to 28 or 29g.
