This product does a great job of keeping you ice cold and insulated. Ice can stay in the product for hours and won't water down or melt. I've left the ice in the bucket for over 6 hours with no noticeable change in the ice. No doubt you could keep the ice cream even longer if you freeze the bucket beforehand. For example, if you leave it outside on a hot summer day, you can keep the ice cream cool for hours! I didn't expect this isolation before buying it. Overall I am very impressed that this product does its job so well for its price. The only downside is that stainless steel leaves fingerprints very easily. Not a huge disadvantage for me as I use this for convenience rather than looks, but people who want to use this as a decorative element should keep this in mind.
