I purchased this to replace the fan motor in my 2005 GMC Canyon because the original fan motor was making a rapid stage 1 clicking noise that was driving me insane. Once installed I don't have to deal with the rapid clicking anymore but this motor makes a loud howl on all 4 speeds. Of course, if you have your radio on you probably won't notice it, but if you're sitting still or driving with the radio off you'll definitely notice it. As A. Elkins said in his review (read it) and I agree VERY COMPLETELY with him, get an extension and universal joint for your ratchet or you'll be there all day trying to get the back screw out. The universal joint allows you to remove it in seconds. Although it looks like you will have to use some parts from the original engine, like the bodywork or hose, this is not necessary. Just remove the old motor and install the new one. You don't have to remove the glove box but it will make things a little easier and since it only has 3 screws it takes a matter of seconds. I think I also removed my kickpad so I have a little more room to work.
