If I had the money I would buy a 3.0GHz eight core cousin of this model but this version works great! Requires heatsink and x99 motherboard. Works on my MSI model with no problems. The installation was a bit difficult to understand but read the tutorials or manual for help. Although the processor is not designed for games, it does its job under heavy load. Depending on the game, multiple cores are used to ensure a smooth experience. Your mileage may vary depending on the game. I mainly use it as a video editing setup. I hooked mine up to a Zotac GTX 980 Ti Amp Extreme 6GB GDDR5 graphics card and it handles multi-gigabyte video clips like butter. Fast render time. The proxy clip does not need to be edited. I can use all cores. Color correction is very easy. 10/10 would spend again
