I've always wanted a curling iron and am very happy with this purchase. My hair is very thick and I usually have to set everything to maximum power. I was confused because there are only settings 0, 1 and 2 with no further description of heat setting 1 or 2. The 1st setting is hot enough for my hair, I didn't even have to try the 2nd. The glove is uncomfortable to use but can help. Once I figured out how to use it in a way that was comfortable for me, it became very easy. I didn't use a glove because it's so uncomfortable, it's too big and it gets caught in my hair. Since I didn't use a glove, I burned the dirt off my hand in a few small spots (1 very hot, be careful). all in all i love it! I just have to be extra careful or wear gloves.
