That's it: a 1/4" TRS jack split into two 1/4" mono channel pins. Not sure what all the complaints are about, specifically the size and stiffness. It's the size, it feels solid and strong. No problems with loose connections as my 1/4" line-in cables literally snap into place. As well as the two mono wires at the other end of the splitter. I've had cheap guitar cables in the past that didn't make a solid connection as some reviews describe, but they were free and unbranded cables. This splitter is not like that. I can't ask for more from a splitter at this price. It just works.
