If you work outside during the winter, you must get this hat. The fur does shed for a week or so, but lightly, and that is normal. It stops after you use it for a while. The fur is extremely soft, and seems to hold up quite well. The fur on the forehead actually works very well for keeping snow out of your face/eyes too. It seems very water-resistant, and my head never got wet while wearing this, even in the worst of weather. I loved this hat so much that I bought a second one after my first one got lost. I'd buy again too, you can't beat the price for this quality.
