Review on Fanimation LK6721DF Spitfire Light KIT by Jennifer Miller

The Spitfire lighting kit does the job but I think it really ruins the overall look of the fan and is expensive for such a simple and fairly basic device (and I have it got it when it was on sale). The lens itself is clear plastic, which I didn't like. The entire lighting kit is quite cheaply made compared to the rest of the fan (btw: note that the Spitfire fan motor, wooden fan blades, and lighting kit have to be purchased separately). I hate to say it, but in my opinion the light kit cheapens the overall look of the fan. I really don't like the light itself, but if you're looking to add light to a fan, your options are very limited. Love the fact that the lights can be controlled completely wirelessly with an app on your phone. The app and the fan and light options are very basic, but it's a nice touch that most fans don't have. The wireless receiver itself comes with the Spitfire engine but can be purchased separately. The wireless receiver is very easy to install because you install a fan. I'm not sure I would buy this fan if it didn't have wireless control capability. With the mobile application you can turn the light on and off and adjust the brightness. The brightness control is very detailed, allowing you to adjust the light to any setting from 0 to 100%. The app includes a timer that allows you to control both the light and the fan. While this fan is wireless, it doesn't have other options for general smart home integration (e.g. it's not able to integrate aspects of lighting or fan control with Alexa). Wireless is a good general idea, but it doesn't really fit what could be done. Looking back I don't think I would buy the lighting set again. However, I should point out that unless you're using a lighting kit, you'll have to settle for a metal fan cover that matches the color of the blades. This fan cover is used on fans that do not have a lighting kit.
