This is a pretty decent work shoe for your average retail job. They're at the comfort end of dress shoes and are pretty durable. They're probably more casual than I would have liked, but I think that matters far less than it did ten years ago. I noticed that 2 of my colleagues wear the same shoes so I would say they are fine. They will stretch a bit as you would expect from faux leather. The shiny outer shell tips over and tears if you snag them on objects, and that will likely be why you replace them - they fail cosmetically before the sole is fully crushed and worn away. You take on the shine when you tend to. I can usually get 60 hours a week for 6 months and take about 15,000 steps a day. The pair I am reviewing is my 3rd or 4th pair and will likely be a 5th and 6th.
