Review on MEAN WELL RS-50-5: 5V 10 Amp AC-DC Power Supply - Efficient and Reliable 50W Single Output by Brian Olson

I wasn't too sure at first when ordering as Revain's product photos show a dusty power supply with severed cables at the connectors. To be honest I was wondering if these were used power supplies salvaged from industrial machinery. In any case, I was wrong. When it arrived it was packaged in a nice sturdy box and the power supply was brand new. I immediately hooked it up to a 144p Neopixel LED strip and all I can say is WOW! After switching on 144 LEDs (all 3 RGB crystals are involved), the power supply not only stays nice and cool, it also keeps the voltage absolutely stable. I then ran a sketch on my Arduino that would use the strip as a volume meter. The voltage still didn't fluctuate and was stable at 5.091 volts as you can see in the picture. After doing my tests and taking photos, I adjusted the voltage to 5.010 volts (under load) using the potentiometer next to the green LED. So far I am very satisfied and can recommend this power supply to everyone without hesitation. The fact that it stays so cold suggests it will likely be one of the longest-lived, as the heat usually kills them. That was also the reason why I went for this special design and not for laptop power supplies in a completely closed plastic housing.
