When I downsized I donated my old Mezzaluna. I haven't really used it anymore. But then I overlooked it anyway and replaced it with this one. No wonder I stopped using the old one. This is how a Mezzaluna should be. I used to chop on a cutting board. I took it with both hands. This blade is so sharp and the wooden shell and mezzaluna are much better and I love the blade guard. I'm 78 years old but I'm still good at cooking. It's easy to use. Highly recommend for fresh herbs, garlic and shallots. I use it a lot and it cleans and cleans so quickly. Love it.
