Review on πŸ”’ Master Lock 1534D Locker Lock: Customizable Word Combination Padlock, 1 Pack, Assorted Colors by Marco Hubbard

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Medium security lock, design could be better

No spring clasp, so need to input combination to close and open the lock, and after closing, all rotary knobs need to be turned to lock the lock. The dials move slightly when the lock is open, so it's annoying when you're in a hurry because you're at the gym on your lunch break :) The construction is cheap with plastic dials and the design could be better; The end cap on the lock body where the clasp goes in just slides onto the body and isn't held in place at all (it would be nice to see the threads on the construction). It stays on when the shutter is closed with the shutter itself. It's fairly secure when fully closed and latched, to be honest, but when you open the clasp it tends to fall off and the dials fall off at that point as well. . This happened to me twice when when opening my locker I dropped the padlock on the gym floor. And if you don't get the watchfaces back exactly as you just changed the password! And the plastic dials mean that if someone really wants to, they can break the dials to see the readouts on the toggle switches below to pick the lock. I only use this for the gym so I think it's good enough but I wouldn't trust this lock on something like a garage door or storage room to be left unattended for days or weeks. If this lock had metal dials it would be ideal for this purpose as the combination is very easy to remember but I would say it is a medium to low security device.
