There is a product specifically for cutting through punching machines so as not to wear out the platforms. It's expensive. It occurred to me that a self-healing cutting mat would work, and it actually does! A bit of trial and error for the right sandwich, but I love it! Now I can easily fire stamps and save my platforms with my Sizzix Big Shot Plus!
