It's fairly stable, although I calibrate it often, which seems to be appropriate for its use. Takes up space when opened. I wish there was a way to keep the included bowl safe, but it's a great and useful bowl so I'm not complaining too much. As long as you close it when you're done, store it properly, and measure it on flat surfaces, you can expect it to work well for a long time. Works great with Ni-MH battery chemistry if you prefer rechargeable batteries.
