I just received this toaster and tried it right away! Read all the instructions and it has wonderful "brown layers" in all the colors I like. I have had a great Kitchen-Aid toaster for many, many years (probably 20 years). He finally died a week or so ago. I really missed it until I got this one. This toaster looks great and is well made. I liked the way it looked and I'm sure I'll enjoy it every day. I researched the toasters on the Revain website and decided this one was my favorite. I toasted 1 piece of bread to try when I got it. Put it on the toast in the color you want and it was perfect! When first switched on, there was no burning or other smells. I expect to love it for many years to come.
