I've been making music professionally for 35 years. I've bought a lot of mic stands over the years. I usually go with the cheapest I can find ($15-$20). They last for several months and then the pens wear out and become unusable. Last time I decided to take a different approach and bought the best I could find. They were significantly more expensive but they have worked great for me for 2 years and are still in perfect condition. They are used for 3-4 gigs every week. I have to say that you definitely get what you pay for in this case. I highly recommend these coasters! Update: another year and a half later and they're still PERFECT!
