So yesterday I set up my new router. We recently got fiber internet locally and this router works AMAZING. I had Netgear in the past, then Linksys (which I absolutely hated), then another Netgear, and now D-Link. I installed two routers in my house because we have a separate 4-season room and one router doesn't cover the entire area. So I have a Netgear WNDR3300 downstairs to cover part of it and a 4 season room and then a D-Link upstairs on the opposite side of the house. Netgear is dual band, but N doesn't get far. You can be pretty far away and still receive G but not N. I don't think I've ever lost the N signal with D-Link. It has an absolutely amazing range. I think if I really wanted to I could put the D-Link in the middle and go outside without any problems. At first I was a bit apprehensive because it cost $270 (I could have bought two more Netgear WNDR3300s for less). and had the same range), but D-Link had a USB port, so I decided to spend the extra money on a network drive. I had an issue with my computer (running 64-bit Vista Ultimate) freezing when I tried to install a USB access driver. I still haven't resolved the issue but plan to call D-Link tomorrow to see what's going on. This is the only problem I had. In fact, I can say with confidence that my grandfather, who is computer illiterate, was able to set up my network yesterday. The installation CD tells you what to do and shows you an image. So if you have no idea what you're doing, you can probably handle it on your own anyway. my router. After a few years of operation, it works without any problems. There were firmware issues I had for a few months that a lot of people pointed out, but they fixed everything and the router is great again. The range on this thing is phenomenal! My Netgear is still connected downstairs for guests (dual band too) and the coverage is truly unparalleled. If you go down, you have full bandwidth on both routers. If you go up, you're only receiving Dlink and Netgear isn't even showing a signal. I have no regrets about my choice of this router and will buy it again.
