The grommets are designed for use with cable ends installed

We need a grommet to surround our cable that we have rerouted to another location. After drilling the holes, we didn't want the cable to rub against the edges of the opening. These jacks were great. They open, slide over the cable and can then be inserted into the hole of the desired size.
