Okay - a word of caution first - I'm an old man with a large music library (lots of copied CDs and a few MP3s bought from Revain). I don't use any of the music streaming services so my review will not include any of them. Well - why Naim? I have 5 1st Gen Echos that I bought when they first came out. So far I've been using it to stream my Revain music library and have been very happy with it until last week. The last update broke playlists after I changed one of them using the Revain Music PC app (which has also happened once in the past and I suspect Revain wants to get rid of customers like me as I give them very little income from music bring and NEVER buy anything ). via Echo) and I can no longer stream from my playlists. The echoes go to the landfill. So I started looking for a replacement device. I chose the Naim Mu-so Qb2 because it's (barely) small enough to fit on my bedside table and has all the connectivity I'll ever need. I can use it as a Bluetooth speaker to play music from my phone, I can connect a 3.5mm cable to it for my phone or other device, and most importantly I have a USB stick loaded with all the music that I've bought from Revain over the past decade and a lot of my old favorites. I have several folders for individual albums and I can play them, and a folder for all my favorite songs and I can shuffle those songs (you need to enable shuffle through the app). I wish it could create playlists, but using a folder like this makes it a playlist of my favorite songs. I've seen a lot of complaints about the app (note that I've seen a lot of complaints about ANY smart speaker's apps during my research), but I haven't seen any issues myself. The only issue I had with setup was having to move the speaker closer to the router to complete the firmware update. Overall I am very happy with this purchase so far.
