Also works very well without Humane Strike function. The vibration and beep worked for my dog who loves to bark at anything moving in the neighborhood. She still barks from time to time, but not at every little thing. Sensitivity and vibration settings from 1-7. I don't use a humane shock because my dog responds well to the beep and vibrate feature. She is very good at teaching and I reward her for her efforts. I only put the collar on when she's outside and turn the collar off when not in use and it has great battery life. Keep track of your dog's first two uses to ensure the collar is working properly and is not causing him discomfort. No remote needed, works very well.
