Seemed to be solid quality construction but the 'medium duty' version was not suited for use on a granite countertop. The supported platform slid across the stone surface instead of rotating. If this thing had a 100 pound load it might turn in place, but definitely not for the much smaller loads you might have on a dining table. In other words, when you start spinning this thing, it won't keep spinning after you let go and "rolled out" 1/4 turn - it stops immediately due to the large amount of friction.
