Review on 🚨 Guardline Wireless Driveway Alarm: Motion Detector & Receiver Set - 500 Ft Range, Outdoor Home Security Alert System by Tony Suggs

Potential but many flaws

I usually only review a product that really impresses me or really disappoints me. Unfortunately, this falls into the latter category. We all want to support American companies, but we expect a great product. I had the last traffic light in seven years. It was a solid system from a New Hampshire company, but I decided it was time to try a new technology. I liked the features of Guardline.zone identification, various alarms (more on that later), range and system expansion. As long as the sensors were working as they should, hence the two stars instead of one. Here are the problems I encountered. I installed two sensors along my long, circular driveway. The system worked. That night we had moderate rain. The next day the system does not work. I checked the sensors. Both looked down! Rain falling on the sun visor caused the device to pivot down toward the ground. And yes, I tightened the screw in the ball head to the maximum. Before installing, I noticed that none of the four sensors I bought were tightened enough. How did they survive the New England winters?! I contacted Guardline, they said they were aware of the issue, offered to send me new backplates but couldn't guarantee they would be better. INDEED?! You know a pretty important bug and haven't fixed it yet? wait it gets better Her solution was to disassemble the blocks and grind the ball and seat to roughen the surface so it wouldn't move as easily. That does not work. I used a file to scrape it and it helped a little. I still don't think it will withstand a snow storm, so I screwed a 6" set screw into the trees under each sensor to keep it from moving down. Not quite the plug and play device I was hoping for. The consumer does not need to make any modifications to the $250 device. I was concerned that using sensors without shutters would result in water ingress, which other reviewers have complained about. Which leads to design flaws 2, 3, and 4. Error number 2. There is no seal between the front and back of the sensor (probable cause of water ingress). Design flaw 3. Four tiny screws need to be removed to replace the sensor. batteries, resulting in a design flaw. 4. These four tiny screws are not pinched screws, which will cause the screws to be lost. And finally design flaws 5. Mounting plates made from the cheapest and thinnest plastic you can find. Attaching these panels to trees that tend to grow will eventually break these panels. My newest pickups had steel plates and the overall pickup plastic was better than the Guardlines. Now for those 32 alerts. I can't imagine choosing from 32 worst security alerts! You guys really can do better. It's terrible. It took us fifteen minutes to review and select just two of the four tones needed. Guardline says they've been working on this product for two years and that's about all they do. I ask this question to any company that makes a product with so many flaws. Are you REALLY using the product you are selling? I personally would be ashamed.
