This is the perfect utensil for storing a wet coffee spoon after you've stirred your coffee. Much nicer than messing around on the countertop. :-) They are actually slightly larger than expected, which is nice. No hallmarks or stamps on the back, in case that matters to you. Plain white porcelain; reminds me of Cordon Bleu. It's easy to quickly wash and dry your hands and get back into action. I saw a copy of this at a major home improvement store (the one with a perpetual coupon for 20% off an item) where a teapot plate costs almost as much as a set of four bought here.
