My poor husband got a Surface at work for field work. We were hoping for an iPad that would meet industry standards, but it wasn't to be. The included charger was badly worn upon arrival. This is my 4th (yes, 4th) attempt to find a working one. I think I sent back two of the first three replacements I bought. The other charged, but it was one of those things where it would hold it in place when it was on. If you wanted to charge it, it only worked when it was switched off. But at least he did something. This really does what is advertised. It even charges if you also use it over RDP, which surprised me based on my experience so far. If it's still working just as well after a month, I'll get another one to back up. I really can't comment on how durable it is or anything as we've only had it for a few weeks but I hope so. I'm not crazy about design. I would prefer a cable that connects to the power supply. If something breaks, you can easily replace the broken part. In addition, this design lasts longer. Less stress. But it's inevitable that this is the only method that works so far. Hope this helps someone.
