Rotating blade for removing nose and ear hair works great. A reciprocating trimmer blade just won't cut. Hardly. Either the spaces between the teeth are too narrow for the diameter of my hair, or the blades are completely dull, or both. But in any case, the trimmer is largely inefficient, so it takes forever to trim even a small area, 0-1 hair is cut off with each use of the trimmer. I bought this to replace an unnamed $5 trimmer I bought at the checkout at Walmart 10 years ago. It worked great, except the cheap plastic bolts that held the blades to the motor eventually wore out completely. I expected more from Val, but no. While the physical aspects of the trimmer are sturdy and the backlit blades are beautiful, the fact that the Wahl largely fails in its primary trimming task means I want to return my old trimmer.
