Three weeks ago I accidentally sat on one of the three pairs I've been wearing since I bought them. Fake Tortoiseshell. I was devastated. My six dollar pair of 3x readers broke. But wait, I have two more pairs. I chose a bamboo imitation. Not very attractive compared to the tortoise shell, but still very functional. What can I say, the first pair lasted more than two years. I missed those tortoise shell glasses so I took a closer look at what was broken. It was one of the metal loops, part of the loop that attached to the temple. Then I looked for a solution on Youtube. Very easy! I had to sacrifice a few dollar readers to get the loop but using a soldering iron I replaced the broken loop and now the turtle shells are like new! I need to find my small bottle of Loctite to attach the screws so I don't lose them as many users here have said. The world is right again!
