I've used this thermometer to check meat and even make candy. Even when the meat I was cooking was on the grill or stovetop, plugging this thermometer in while warm didn't affect the reading. Readings were accurate and clear. I love that it's digital and I don't have to wait for the sensor to get stuck or bend. The results are almost instantaneous. As soon as I turn it on and plug it in, the numbers appear. They rise when you let them cook. There is a clip on the side that I was able to use on the pan when trying to make caramel. Fast and accurate again.
