I bought this kit to secure my tractor's 10 x 20 cm canopy with sidewall fabric that is dancing around on a windy day and has to be dropped. I could see that as winter storm season approaches, it wouldn't work. They were a little tricky to install, but I think that's a good thing as they won't come out unless someone "unscrews" them off the floor with a pole. . I didn't do much other than plow the ground for the first few inches, but with constant pressure with each turn, it eventually bit and started pulling itself down. As a turning tool, I used a large hook wrench that I could hold with both hands. To pull the wires you need to leave a couple of turns on the ground rod. Measure, cut and stretch the cable as taut as possible by hand. You will need a small socket or wrench to tighten the nuts on the cable clamps. Once the cord is securely fastened at each end, continue working the grounding rod through the last few turns to get the cord snug and secure. Be sure to attach the cable to something strong on the target structure that can withstand the stress! I used this set in each 45 degree corner to draw from corner to corner. I have a set of four cheaper corkscrew and plastic rope ground spikes that I also use along the side walls. I used a series of tent spikes driven into the pole's legs to keep it from moving. Now I'm ready for winter.
