UPDATE (07/01/2020): The key is more difficult to insert all the way into the lock to unlock it. I'll have to use Lock Lube in the morning to see if that helps. Oh yeah. The cover color is black, not grey. UPDATE (01/13/2019): I bought this gas cap in November, installed it in no time and have been using it since (just over 2 months). It's a PAIN having to put the key in to lock the lid every time I fill up. The good news is that I didn't see the Check Engine light due to the loose gas cap. In fact, I have NEVER had a CEL light due to a loose gas cap. ORIGINAL review (11/10/2018): This was ordered when I realized someone had opened the fuel filler flap. Now I don't have to worry about foreign objects getting into my gas tank. Someone wrote a review saying that the lid ordered closed when the lid was tightened. This requires a key to complete. Simply twisting the cap will not lock it. Once locked, a strong twist will not unscrew the cap. I noticed a blue thread-like object in the lock's keyhole. After taking the photos, I used tweezers with a needle to remove the blue thread. I wonder why the blue thread ended up in the lock. How did the carving get there? I also noticed that one of the two buttons had a few rust-like spots on just one side. Photographed again. With an eraser I removed the rust from the surface. Small rust spots are still present. How long does a piece of plated iron (it's magnetic, so iron) have to sit idle before rust spots appear on it? And where was it kept? Tank cap installed. When I drive somewhere I can tell if the Check Engine light is on because the gasket is leaking. When I have more time I might attach a cable to this new cover. Keep for updates.
