Overeat came in this condition. When I loaded it with 1.5 amps the switching frequency dropped and started whining loudly and heating up worse with more load. So I opened it up to pour epoxy on the inductor to steady it and then I saw that the temp gauge had fallen off and was hanging over the transformer. So I check the thermal paste and find a used diode with no paste behind a used component. I've added a photo of the FETs to show they were at least in place with thermal paste. Then I see a broken fan, so luckily I couldn't stand the noise enough to heat it up enough for something else to fail. Keep it on the shelf of shame.
