Back in 2015 I bought a Bestton E-3LUE Master of Destiny mouse for less than $30 here at Revain. This adorable blue mouse came in a beautiful box made from soft materials and was sure to last 5 years. Unfortunately, the spotlight ran out of time when the left button stopped working properly. Doubly sad that this mouse is no longer available. Enter the Redargon M690-1, a similarly shaped red devil that, while slightly more expensive than the Master of Destiny, will hopefully replace the E-3lue. First impression, the packaging was cheap. While the Master of Destiny came in a box with molded panels to keep the precious package safe, the Dargon only had a thin, clearly molded plastic insert. This thin plastic theme has continued in the mouse itself. It's light and not in a good way. When I hold a mouse in my hand, I don't feel like it's ready for the work I'm preparing for it. For example, if I hold it wrong, it just breaks. I've only used it for about 5 hours and the mouse pads are already worn and damaged. The click is ok, but does not inspire confidence here either. It looks light and cheap. While my amazing E-3lue lasted 5 years with no issues, I doubt I'll be able to enjoy the M690-1 for a full year. If only Master of Destiny was still on sale. TL:DR- I think it's a perfect mouse, but if you're a regular Master of Destiny, any old Dargon just doesn't fit.
