Not easy to clean, this device is a very important aspect of buying and using a humidifier and maintaining your health. I've read that some owners fill up every night, unload every morning, and go through a complicated cleaning process using bleach and then vinegar. There are a few nooks and crannies in this unit that cannot be reached and I can see debris even when using distilled water - debris is at the base of the inner tube/middle tube. It is also very difficult to dry this device after cleaning because it only has 1 hole and it is very small. Why water from below? Why doesn't the top have a wide opening so you can put your hand in to clean it? and then have a hole big enough to let the device dry? Bad design. I give it 2 stars because it's easy to use and has an auto shut off feature. But I would not recommend anyone to buy because of cleaning issues. The first question every manufacturer should ask is "How easy is it to clean?”. These people didn't even consider the problem.
