I needed a surge protector/receptacle for some non-critical electronic/electrical equipment. It feels solid enough, the switch works well, and I liked the long power cord. That being said, 1080 joules is enough for my application; I wouldn't put expensive electronics on this muffler though. For this I have a Triplite 8 Socket Isobar model. At 3840 joules and 12 amps of CB plus filtering, I find the Isobar to be a better match for my particularly expensive gear. Conclusion: Surge arrester is not just a surge arrester. The buyer is obliged to adapt the options to the requirements; This reduces the likelihood of mismatches and later disappointments.
