I bought this apple corer because of the ergonomic handle just in case something goes wrong with it, in the kit there is almost a second of the same price. The core works great compared to my old supermarket core which cost about the same and was cumbersome to use. The old one was smaller in diameter and had no notches on the bottom, making it significantly blunter and harder to push through the apple. Then, if by some miracle you were able to punch it straight through, there was no other way to pull the core out other than risk cutting your fingers and hands trying to push it out. I like this one more.
