If your goal is to split a MONO XLR signal (mic or line) and you want to do it cheaply and easily, then this is the perfect option. You can use any cable that goes from a double socket to a single plug to connect, but I don't recommend it. put your devices at risk! but not afraid of division. Your signal integrity will be fine and your devices will be safe. The 1.5 foot cord is very short, but that's what I wanted. Not something I need all the time, but it's great to have in my toolbox when I do. I plan to get another one.
