Review on πŸ”Œ Heininger-6000 Advantage 11-Inch Hitch Extension - Adjustable and Sleek Black Finish by Christopher Karamba

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product but does not appear to be adjustable as described

We bought this product because the description said "Heininger Advantage hitch extensions are designed to extend the receiver hitch to 11". We found that when attaching the bike rack, the extension could only be locked down the full length of the 11" extension to allow the holes to line up. Not a big deal, but if flexibility is what you're looking for, you may not find this item as flexible as you'd hoped given the description and drawing with dimensions in the Revain description. This is the only reason we gave 4 stars and not 5 stars. Otherwise, it does a great job of extending the hitch for our bike rack. We love that there is no oscillating device included, the extension fits very nicely into the car's hitch. We have a 2" hitch so we need to use the adapter that came with our bike rack. There was no rocking right on our own hitch, but with this extension. There is a slight lateral wobble between the bike rack and the extension. The welds are clean and there was no missing paint or scratches on what we received. It will be packed in its own carton and then double boxed for shipping. As others have said, this hitch should NOT be used for towing, but is a good choice for extending the hitch to let the spare tire through. We have a Swagman XTC Cross-Country 2 bike rack (1.25 & 2" receiver) which we think makes a great 2 bike rack on the back of the car. Both bike wheels are in recesses on the back of the car. Platform and are additionally held in place with rubber bands. There is also a push button ratchet lever for the frame and the bikes feel very stable. Be careful not to pinch the cables on the frame when tightening the ratchet.
