Cast Iron Ordinary Pot Handle Holder

This is my third attempt to find a good cast iron holder that will protect my hand for about 10 seconds when the pot is fresh out of the oven (500 F). I tried silicone but it was difficult to slide in and out, next was a leather holder that had to be opened and then snapped in place with a button. This is my third attempt and it's an improvement over others. The dimensions are correct so that the handle holder can slide in and out. But the side seams are so stiff they cut the hand holding them. Especially if it's a fairly heavy pan. The leather is nice and thick and offers good thermal insulation. Perhaps the stitched sides, beautifully executed, with frequent use will become softer and more comfortable in the hand. I'm not sure I want to wait that long, so the search for a good retainer continues.

Pros
  • 2. HEAT RESISTANT AND NOT HEAT RESISTANT: Beautiful small leather handles on hot handles, very thick, comfortable to grip. Heat resistant, non-flammable, protects against high temperatures and protects hands when cooking. Warring: Cast iron leather grip covers are not fireproof. DO NOT put on this leather oven mitt while it is in the oven. Remove it from the dishes before closing the oven door. DO NOT use this pen holder in contact with an open flame.
