Review on Powerlet (PAC-069): Dual USB Adapter 2.1A with Powerlet Plug by Douglas Hall

Good for my needs like charging my iPhone or Sena BT and powering/running a Garmin GPS. It also works well with other products from Sena, Bad Elf, and Samsung. I suppose it would be fine with any USB. Currently use it for BMW GS and original Canbus equipped sockets. Were the spade pins that needed to be pushed out a bit to give them more confidence in the plug when I got it. Everything else is fine, it's a reliable long-running favorite. It appears to be waterproof with no cables attached to it. There is a small rubber door that I can remove with gloves on. It stays in place after being "unplugged" which is nice as there is less chance of losing it. I wouldn't use it in the rain with USB ports (since I don't have waterproof USB ports). But it looks like it can stay connected as long as the rubber plug is in place. The rated current is 2.0A (10W). At the time of writing the spec, it wasn't clear whether it was aggregation or per-port. I believe this is an aggregate and users are seeing 1A per port with 2 devices attached or 2A per port with 1 device attached. Either way, as long as you're not charging 2 iPads you should be fine. Yes, it's an expensive item, but compared to alternatives, it's plug and play, which still makes it valuable to me. No messing around with fuse panels or cables and easy to switch between bikes, perfect. One thing to consider is that if you're between this and a power cord (Micro or Mini USB/Lightning), the power cords will likely outlive your OEM USB. Cable when blown in the wind. So if you ride a naked bike and don't need 2 full USB ports/cables, it's better to use a regular power cable. Also, if you are using 2 USB cables, make sure the cables are only the length you need. The more cords, the more reason to scratch your ride or get tangled up in something. Thank you for reading my review. If there's anything I can add to improve it, let me know.
