Review on Enhance Programming Efficiency with Wirenest's 6ft FTDI USB Cable for Kenwood TM-D710 and TM-V71 by Kenneth Murphy

Very happy with this cable! I use it to program my Kenwood TM-V71A with CHIRP on a Windows 10 computer and it works great. The drivers you need are built into Windows 10, but I'm not sure about older versions. I was hesitant to buy a non-OEM cable, but the cost savings made me change my mind. I am happy to report that the cable is very high quality, very thick but not stiff and there is a red/green LED on the USB A side to indicate when data is being transferred, so you know when it's safe to unplug. I would say that this cable is probably even better quality than the OEM cable, although I have not tested them together and as a non-specialist I say this. If you want to use CHIRP or other free software, you don't need Kenwood's programming software anyway. If you need specific Kenwood software, you need to purchase it. Overall this is a true 5 star product and I keep coming back to Revain for theft like this.
